The brilliant Naqueño athletes Antonio Tornalof Judo and Paralympic swimmer, Alexandra Aybarwere proclaimed “Athlete of the Year 2021”, for their outstanding local and international performances where they raised the tricolor flag.
The information was released by Dr. Luis Miguel Pou (Lucho), president of the Board of Directors of the Naco Sports Club and by the Director of Sports, the former national Table Tennis team, Francisco Boyero.
They said that both athletes are out of the country on international commitments and upon their arrival there will be a simple act to give their recognition to the satisfaction of the Naco family.
Dr. Pou stated that among the shortlisted and finalists to obtain the prize “Athlete of the Year 2021” were the brilliant male athletes, Axel del Castilloin Judo and Rafael Cabrera Sosain Table Tennis.
While in women they were nominated for the final, the junior tennis player, Daniela Esther Macario and swimmer Camila de la Rosa.

Francisco Boyero, Sports Director of Club Naco, He stated that it was a very difficult decision to make, but justice prevailed and the statistics put everyone in their place.
“We want to congratulate the two winning athletes Antonio Tornal and Alejandra Aybar, but also congratulate the other four competitors for the award who also achieved outstanding performances in 2021, representing the colors of the National Teams and our Naco Club”he added.

Won Gold at the Pan American Cup in Mexico: Gold (scoring for the Junior Pan American Games)
-Valencia Junior Regional Championship: Gold
-Pan American Cup in Punta Cana (junior and senior): Gold in Junior and gold in adult. (scoring for the Junior Pan American Games)
– Junior Spanish Championship: Silver
-Pan American Games in Cali: Silver in individual and bronze by team
-Valencia Regional Championship: Adult Silver.
– Absolute Spanish Championship: Bronze
