Hugo Bergantini – He already has a very sharp arrow

He is one of the targets of the Mines de Talent evening. Inevitably, Hugo Bergantini has a habit of aiming right, of hitting the bullseye. He shoots his arrow with the precision of a Swiss watchmaker. So he brings back his weight of medals to the archery club of Montceau-les-Mines.

In 2020, indoor competition at 18 meters, he won a silver medal at the Burgundy championships before taking bronze in Vittel at the French championships. Hugo Bergantini is the youngest. He already has the “arrow” well done.

The passion for archery came to him when his mother noticed that at the school fair, Hugo liked to practice the crossbow. “When he was 7 years old, I found him a shooting club”.

At the rate of three training sessions per week, Hugo above all takes pleasure. It’s more complicated in competition, “I have to manage the stress, the fear of missing my target” he says before bouncing back on his dream, “to participate in the Olympic Games”. The first step to take is to join the French team, the springboard for the Olympics.

At 13, he is well aware of the efforts to be made, that he must carry out his studies at the same time, he is in 4th grade at the Saint Gilbert college in Montceau-les-Mines, that all the arrows do not necessarily hit the bull’s eye. Its priorities are well targeted.

Archery is one of them, but he also lets himself be carried away by another enthusiasm, the automobile. “It fascinates me, it is also a passion”.

Hugo Bergantini has probably not finished surprising. To be followed like an arrow that always aims further, higher, stronger.
