Archery: Philippine Carrière shone in Nîmes

Alain Blache, the president of the Compagnie du Camp de César, brought together the archers of the club present in training, this Wednesday, January 26, for an unusual speech. It was with emotion that he wished to congratulate and applaud the club’s young archer, Philippine Carrière, for her remarkable performance over the weekend with her bronze medal obtained in Nîmes. Indeed the minimal Philippine registered for the 24th edition of the South of France Archery Tournament which is the French round of the Indoor Recurve Archery World Cup. Usually contested in five stages, this year only those of Nîmes and Las Vegas were scheduled.

Engaged in the under-15 girl category, Philippine obtained her qualification on Friday January 21 for the Saturday final with the second best score with 552 points out of 600. The final being disputed by elimination in opposition to two, Philippine fails in the semi -final but does not lose focus to win the small final and get the bronze medal.

For Alain Blache this result is the best obtained by an archer of the club since its creation 36 years ago; it represents a magnificent reward for his young protege, but also for all the volunteers of the club.

Philippine lives the moment serenely. She confesses “During the competition, I was particularly stressed; the pressure was enormous but I am delighted with my medal”. She has certainly accumulated a solid experience which should be profitable to her, this weekend in Beaucaire (Gard championship), February 12 and 13 in Muret for the regionals and finally from February 25 to 27 in Cholet at the French championships for which his qualification is already acquired.
