The year archived in December was intense, exciting and full of poisons. And not just for the Covid-19. The Formula One saw two talented and fiery drivers collide with victory in the 2021 World Drivers’ Championship. At the wheel of the two best stables (for years now) of the most prestigious and famous four-wheeled Circus, Lewis Hamilton e Max Verstappen they challenged each other with no holds barred. The Anglo-Saxon, now a former world champion, was unable to defend his title from the assault of his Dutch rival. In the theater of Abu Dhabiafter a season of accusations and contacts, a last act took place which still today leads to discussion Mercedes e Red Bull. A brand in focus that will also influence this new season which is ready to warm up the engines. In particular, Aston Martin may break away from the star’s stable in the near future.
Aston Martin, goodbye to Mercedes? Future as a builder
The Red Bull makes school, after goodbye a Honda. Aston Martinin this sense, it could take the same path as the bull’s stable by abandoning supplies of power unit license plates Mercedes. For now it is only a small indiscretion, but in the future of the team Milton Keynes there could be the transformation into constructor. The green team, therefore, should create the engines to be mounted on its single-seaters directly at home, without anyone’s help. An idea also confirmed by Andy Greentechnical director:
“It is among our thoughts to reflect on power units. 2026 is an important year, in which the new regulations will arrive: as a team, we would like to be involved. Aramco is now our sponsor and I think the conversations will continue over the next few years. I’m sure we will think carefully about building a power unit to understand the advantages of this choice“.
