Collectables and basketball memorabilia will be auctioned off and awards will be given to those involved in basketball in Cremona, for passion or profession, such as some of the historical journalists of the segment ball and not only in an event not to be missed for all those who love this sport that is gaining ground in Cremona.
Certainly in a city that loves basketball the autographed shirts of the Vanoli players, captain Peppe Poeta in the lead, will not go unnoticed, but also the Spanish jewel and the promising Andrea Pecchia, fresh from the call to the national team. Also up for auction are the jerseys of two Ju-Vi flags, Elvis Vacchelli and Marco Bona, but also a gem worn by Danilo Gallinari when he was playing with the NBA’s New York Knicks. In addition, 15 posters taken from historical photos, taken by Giorgio Gandolfi, of Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Julius Erving and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar will be auctioned: of the latter also a poster with the famous basket on the hook, which, in a game in Las Vegas, allowed him to break the record every time of points in the NBA, and which still belongs to him.
The first part of the Cremonese basketball Gala, which will be held on Sunday 20 February at 6 pm in the main hall of the Liceo Torriani, will be dedicated to the auction, conducted by Cristina Coppola of Cremona 1 and Federico Medagliani, president of the Amici di Robi Association. The event is promoted by the “Torriani” Liceo Scientifico Sportivo, with the Giorgio Gandolfi Worldwide Management & Consulting agency, the Amici di Robi Association, and with the patronage and collaboration of the Municipality of Cremona. It is open to all, fans, players, managers, with a maximum capacity of 200 people, according to the current rule which provides for 35% of the total available seats.
All the proceeds from the auction will go to the Liceo Sportivo “Torriani, to support two students of the Liceo Sportivo within the SMD Project, which will see sport marketing, governance, communication and digital interventions begin on February 14, with the aim of to repeat the International Seminar in late spring, the last edition of which was a great success, both nationally and internationally.
The second part of the Gala will begin with a special award ceremony by the Amici di Robi Association, which will give the proceeds of the 3XCRE event, wanted by the Memorial Miky Barcella and the Friends of Robi Memorial, to Dr. Sandra Sigala of the University of Brescia, Molecular Medicine Department. Various characters from our basketball team, Aldo Vanoli, Enrico Ferraroni of Ju-Vi, Fabio Tambani of Sansebasket and Gianpiero Repellini of Cremonese Basket, as well as Antonio Bodini del Baskin, past and present journalists of the newspaper La Provincia, from Giuseppe Baguzzi, who followed our basketball for years, to Daniele Duchi, from Fabrizio Barbieri to Alessandro Rossi, as well as Nick Cabrini, the first “bi-partisan” coach, who coached both Ju-Vi and Corona, and who brought Cremona to the A2 stages, and Maurizio Mondoni, one of the fathers of minibasketball. Alongside them also Cristina Coppola, with Lorenzo Scaratti and Alberto Guarneri from Cremona 1, while the Consorzio Sistema Basket will be represented by Stefano Stabile, President of the Consortium, and others. Special thanks go to the Basket System Consortium, the newspaper La Provincia, Cremona 1 and Persico Europe for supporting the event.
