Eleven-year-old, the young nugget of BCPF is educated in 6e, at Le Bocage college in Dinard which is labeled Pôle Espoirs. It was while accompanying his dad that young Lenny got caught up in the game of driving, a sport that combines speed, power and technique.
His qualities and faults, it is his father who accompanies him regularly, who speaks about them best:
“Lenny has a very good reading of his opponents’ game, he knows how to anticipate. He also has a creative game which destabilizes the opponent and his net game is his strength. On the other hand, he lacks strength on the backhand which he works a lot”.
His favorite hobby is playing console games. “Remains of containment! says the dad, who is attentive to his son’s school results, with a smile:
“At this age, it’s the most important. Lenny is a serious student who has facilities and good faculties of assimilation of lessons”.
Mathematics is his preference.
JO and Top 12
When we talk to him about goals, the young fougerais has eyes that shine:
“Winning the French championship in November in Mulhouse! »
Tournaments abroad to confront the best are also an important motivation: the Netherlands (already won 2 years ago), the Belgium, l’Spain…
Closer, the international tournament of Bourges (end of January) and the interregional of Beaucouze (Maine-et-Loire) are in the sights of the young badiste. Time-consuming and financially heavy travel, the responsibility of the family with help from the club and the League. For a better distribution of expenses, the parents organize themselves into a network.
One might think that Lenny is very much in demand by clubs with big resources: for the moment, the father and his son refuse to do so, preferring to “stay faithful to the roots of the training club”.
The one who, for 4 years is the French n° 1 in his category (youngest), if he likes the individual side of his sport, also appreciates the double. In men’s doubles, he discovered links with Aodrenn Houtin (Guichen Bourg-des-Accounts) with whom he plays regularly. In mixed, the chance of a competition in Mulhouse, associated him with Anissa Vogt who, too, is n° 1 in France. An explosive duo!
The long-term objectives of the fougerais badminton player are twofold: to participate in the example of Tom Gicquel and Lénaïg Morin at the Olympic Games and to play in the Top 12, the highest French level, with the Fos/Mer club, the Popov brothers’ club. , the M’Bappé of badminton!
