With the illusion of obtaining the first places, this week the badminton team of the state of Morelos left to participate in the Selective National Championship heading to the Junior Pan American Championship of the specialty that will be held in the Dominican Republic this year.
This Thursday a group of 15 racket players in different categories left for the state of Jalisco to look for a place in the national representative that will defend the national colors in the continental fair with an age limit scheduled in the Caribbean country.
The event entitled “Single National Qualifier for the Jr. Dominican Republic Pan American Championship 2022”, will take place in the capital of Jalisco, the city of Guadalajara, from February 4 to 6.
The Morelos representative left for the pearl of the West with a team of 15 athletes in three different categories.
At the head of the delegation is the president of the Morelos Association of Badminton, José Francisco Alcántara Cortés, who is also the head of the state representative’s coaching staff.
The team started that Thursday from an early hour with athletes from the U-15, U-17 and U-19 categories.
For the U-15 category, Sofía Ruiz, Luis Vázquez, Emmanuel Esquer, Emiliano Carrera and Pablo Aguilar will participate.
The U-17, the category with the most members, is made up of Luna Mazón, Regina Gómez, Natalia Millán, Sofía Pérez, Carlos Alberto de la Sierra, Ángel Curiel, Félix Aguilar and Julio Ortiz.
And for the Under-19 Senior Youth category, the one with the fewest members, Ámbar Rogel and Leonardo García will compete.
The coaches of these athletes are Axel Rogel, Antonio Ocegueda, and Francisco Alcántara himself.
It should be noted that the Morelos entity will also have the participation of four Cuautlan judges in charge of imparting justice, such as Óscar Euroza Cruz and César Iván Aguilar Marín, who will work as main judges; and Analy Lizbeth Brito Ruiz and Jesús Adrián Valencia Moysen, as line judges.
The leader of the association stressed that the Jalisco national will also serve to arrive well prepared for the qualifying championship of the specialty heading to “National Games Conade 2022”.
The national stage of badminton in this event will be held in the state of Baja California, where the entity will once again seek to occupy a place on the podium as it happened in the first edition that was held in 2021.
