Baseball and softball arrive in Metapontino thanks to ASD Kings of Rivello | Baseball Mania

The promotion activity of the ASD Acli Kings RIVELLO Baseball and Softball continues in the Lucanian area, after the success of the softball clinic organized on the weekend of 5 and 6 February with the participation of the athletes of the Italian national team Fabrizia Marrone, Ilaria Cacciamani ( European champions and present at the last Tokyo Olympics) and Chiara Giudice, SerieA player with Caserta Softball, a new initiative of these days is the project ACTIVE JUNIOR SCHOOL promoted by Sport and Health and the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the FIBSto encourage the discovery of sports, among others, such as baseball and softball, which are different and exciting.

After the day held at the Milani Institute in Policoro, we collected the statement from Giuseppe Ferrari, technician of the Rivellese company.

“The Acli di Rivello association has long ago chosen to use sport and in particular baseball, softball and B5 to help young people experience moments of growth and socialization.

For years we technicians, trained through the courses made available by the FIBS (Italian Baseball and Softball Federation), have offered ourselves to schools to spread these sports, believing that they have a lot to give for the healthy growth of children.

For this reason, we federal baseball technicians have gladly accepted to join the Junior Active School program, promoted by Sport and Health and by the Ministry of Education.

Various secondary schools in Basilicata have chosen baseball as a sport. We started with Maratea / Trecchina and Policoro. In a few months we will also be in Filiano.

My experience at the Milani Institute in Policoro, assisted by Professor Rita D’Argerio, was very positive.

I have encountered an environment ready for this sport for a long tradition with a similar sport played there for many years.

The boys are very interested in discovering baseball and the teacher is also very careful to steal the information I give to the students.

From the experience of these years in schools I have been able to verify that baseball is a perfect sport to give all children the opportunity to make healthy movement.

An advantage is that everyone can find their own role and can make an important contribution to the team. It is a sport that is all about teamwork. It is difficult to be the sole protagonists of this sport.

You learn a lot about the relationship with teammates and opponents, respect for the rules, respect for the referees. With the joke you also learn a lot to be in the spotlight and to accept the mistake. I believe it is the most suitable sport for everyone.

This is why we are willing to make sacrifices to spread it also in Basilicata. “”
