Traveling to Maubeuge this Saturday evening, ESCLAMS stalled again and went on to a new defeat.
In a more than complicated sporting situation, the Longacoissiens see the extra-sporting aspect not helping them either. Indeed, while the chances of maintenance are increasingly weak, the club is already managing as a result. It is in this sense that ESCLAMS amicably negotiated a break for the departure of Gregory Faulkner. Arrived last summer from Berck, the Canadian, hampered by a hand injury, never managed to make the expected impact.
On the floor of Northerners in search of maintenance, the Picards miss out on their first quarter and are already counting 15 points behind after 10 minutes of play (25-10). A significant gap which suggested a one-sided match and a new big slap. But since the start of the season, ESCLAMS has shown character and will prove it once again. In the second act, Longueau indeed manages to show a much better face, to get closer to the score at the break (38-31)erasing half of its delay.
But unfortunately when we return from the locker room, the situation will change and the gap will start to rise again. The players of Thomas Giorguitti fail to stay in contact with the Maubeugeois who switch to +16 (61-45) before the last ten minutes. If they will once again react in the last act and finish stronger, winning it 20 points to 10, that will not be enough. ESCLAMS bows 71-65 and remains stuck at just one small victory this season.
Maubeuge – ESCLAMS : 71-65 (25-10, 13-21, 23-14, 10-20)
EXCLAMS : Dalsback 0 – Adechoubou 3 – Hure 0 – Jouvin 3 – Raguette 7 – Gantswa 22 – Kotnik 2 – Gassama 16 – Lesieu 12
