Big Bill of Coaticook: Marcel Sévigny passes away

BASEBALL. Coaticook’s Big Bill loses one of its builders. Indeed, its former general manager, Marcel Sévigny, died in the last hours.

Mr. Sévigny, a member of the Quebec Major League Baseball Hall of Fame, was 74 years old.

The news obviously saddened the big family of Big Bill. The coach and current general manager of the formation, Jonathan Breton, remembers a “great man”. “Marcel, he was just a good human being. He was the one who gave me my chance as a coach after I left with the Rocket. I owe him a lot. It is thanks to him if I am the coach that I have become.

Even among his eternal adversaries, the Sherbrooke Expos, we only have fond memories of the late general manager. “For us he might have been a rival, but he was first and foremost a family member at the same time. Marcel only had friends, ”said the head of communications for the training of the Queen City of the Eastern Townships, Robert Legault.

More details to come.
