Athlete students from the school with special educational needs, Carlos Coello de Caibarién, are preparing to participate as of February 16 in the provincial Special Olympics games, which will be held in the municipality of Remedios.
Those of Villa Blanca plan to participate in five sports: athletics, basketball, gymnastics, weightlifting and badminton.
The head of the Physical Education section in the territory, María Victoria Hernández Esquerra, highlighted the importance of the participation of students of this type of education in the main sporting event for them.
Likewise, Elena Martínez, a Physical Education teacher at that school, considers that the relationship between physical education and sport increases the physical abilities of students.
The Caibarien delegation to the provincial games of the Special Olympics has the presence of the weightlifting world champion, Yaritza Parrado Fernández.
