Ensenada, Baja California.- Grateful for the fact that the State Government turns to see sports talents and supports them with sports scholarships that allow them to improve their quality as athletes, this is the feeling that embraces the international karate fighter of Ensenada Ericka Luque.
“This type of stimulus is a lot of motivation to maintain ourselves and improve, not to let ourselves fall, these stimuli really help us a lot, either for our preparation or to buy equipment, it helps us improve as athletes,” he commented.
Yesterday, after the sports scholarship award ceremony held at the Ensenada High Performance Center, the silver medalist at the recent Junior Pan American Games in Cali, Colombia, spoke about her present and future, assuring that regardless of the pandemic situation that is crossed, its preparation has never been altered.
“Despite all the problems that we have gone through due to the pandemic, we have come out ahead, we have never rested, on the contrary, we have worked harder to get to each competition as well as possible,” he said.
With the motivation to the surface, the student of Ramsés Rodríguez, counts the days for what will be her debut in a great event for seniors, and that is, after completing a successful career in youth events, Ericka declares herself ready to steal reflectors in the largest tests.
“My next challenge is the Adult Pan American Games, I am very motivated because it will be my debut in a senior tournament of this magnitude, we also have the Senior Central American Games, we are going to go all out,” she declared.
It could be said that Ericka Luque is currently spearheading Baja California karate, however, in the opinion of the talented martial artist, this discipline will soon give great results, as it ensures that new generations with enough talent are coming.
“Baja California karate has evolved, it has advanced a lot and today we can say that there is a lot of future ahead, new generations are coming who see us and are motivated, the most advanced can see that and we understand that this is about growing together,” he concluded.
