  • The Tirajana club has different high-level athletes who compete in the male and female categories with the aim of participating in the next Olympic events.

San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Thursday, February 10.-

This Thursday a reception was held promoted by the Department of Sports of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council with the aim of making visible the integrating work of the different sports clubs of the southern municipality.

In this case, the meeting was attended by the mayor, Concepción Narváez, the Councilor for Sports, Samuel Henríquez Quintana, and was also attended by Jonathan Hernández, president and technical director of the Bushicán Judo Sports Club. The Tirajana entity, whose headquarters are located in the municipality, reviewed in this act what its professional career has been up to now and claimed the extraordinary performance of each of its participating athletes.

The mayor wanted to congratulate “for the perseverance, effort and great work that the club has been doing with all its teams and, especially, with Aixel Ramírez, who has managed to be a benchmark and achieve everything that has been proposed in such a Little time. We are proud to have elite athletes who carry the name of our municipality in various cities around the world”.

For his part, the Councilor for Sports “highlighted the great work that the sports clubs of our municipality do, in all their disciplines. Grassroots sport in all its breadth not only involves the training of new talents, but also the learning of values ​​such as camaraderie, teamwork, respect for the rival, self-improvement and responsibility, among others; Therefore, we are proud to have so many clubs in our municipality that are dedicated to transmitting all this to our young people”.

Likewise, they focused their presentation on the recognition of the figure of great competitors such as Aixel Ramírez Pérez, in the male category, and Alejandra Yang Rodríguez Ruíz, in the female category. These judokas have obtained the following sports results throughout their professional development:

. Aixel Ramirez Perez; champion of Spain on the first day of the Children/Cadet Championship, held at the CDM Gallur, in Madrid on December 4 last year, by obtaining first place in the category of more than 66 kg, in which a total of 28 athletes from different national autonomies. In addition, he has a total of ten metals (nine of them are gold) distributed among different island championships, the Canary Islands and even obtained a bronze in the Saint Cyprian International Tournament (France). From now on, he will focus all his professional efforts on obtaining the necessary mark to participate in future national and European cadet championships and even being able to be part of the Spanish representation in the next Olympic event of this nature.

. Alejandra Yang Rodríguez Ruíz: She achieved a brilliant third place in the category of less than 48 kg in her participation in the Junior Cup of Spain in Salamanca, held in the Castilian-Leon municipality of Villares de la Reina on January 30. In addition, she won an outstanding seventh place in the aforementioned competition of the Community of Madrid, disputing on this occasion the cadet category of less than 44 kg and having competed with a total of 24 athletes.

On the other hand, other tirajan athletes such as Israel Rivero Ben Mohamed and Gustavo González Herrera were named for their also notable sporting feats. As its president Jonathan Hernández assures in a statement, “with effort and sacrifice you can get to metal. The best is yet to come”.
