The young people of the Judo-Club began the year by chaining competitions in Haute-Garonne and in the Hautes-Pyrénées. In minimal, Rodrigo Vélosa thus finished 2nd and Martin Poréba 3rd in Tarbes. The junior girls were in Toulouse where the team, made up of Flori Sarrabaïg, Ainara Perez and Clara Quanteau (from Eauze), finished 3rd, qualifying for the Grande Région Occitanie championship.
Then came the turn of the cadets who carried the colors of Condom loud and clear at the Maison du judo in Toulouse. Rayan Lahrizi wins and Lotte Albrecht finishes 3rd, qualifying for the Grande Région Occitanie championship but also for the France Espoir championship which will take place next spring. Emma Albrecht and Inès Vandervorst rank 3rd and 1st respectively and also qualify for the Greater Region 1st division championship. Emma will follow her sister to the French 2nd division championship as a cadet.
Everything is still to play for everyone in each age category at the level of the Greater Region as at the national level. But the results are promising and the succession assured with the selection of the youngest soon.
For their part, the 7 minims of the club are training intensely for an international tournament scheduled for the end of February in Saint-Cyrpien.
The work of Professor Laurent Sarrabaïg continues to bear fruit since 3 cadets in 2020 were already due to climb to the French championship, alas! canceled by the health crisis.
