The deportation of Novak Djokovic extends to Spanish politics. Was a politician fired because of the tennis star?
It’s about Josep Manchado, he was head of the environmental department on the island of Mallorca. He was relieved of his duties earlier in the week. Serbian media are now speculating that he was fired for a Djokovic-friendly post on Facebook.

“Forza Nole! Millions of people are on your side,” he wrote on social media while Djokovic was in the days-long legal battle to enter Australia.
The newspapers from Djokovic’s homeland go even further. For example, the “Nadal lobby” is said to be behind the politician losing his job. “Nadal’s lobby does not forgive anyone,” writes the “Telegraf”.
Rafael Nadal sharply criticized Djokovic and his behavior around the Australian Open, since then he has been considered an enemy in the Balkan state.
More likely than a Nadal conspiracy, however, is that Manchado was fired because he repeatedly criticized his own party’s government and recently sympathized more and more with corona deniers.
