In this match which should have taken place on January 21, postponed to this evening, due to the presence of the Covid on the official date, the Union will seek, in Gironde, a very important victory for its position in the classification of the hen A in anticipation of phase 2.
The Union still has, with this evening’s meeting, four meetings including three trips, Bordeaux, La Rochelle, next Friday, Lorient next Tuesday and finally the reception of Sables Vendée, Friday February 25 at the Quai de l’Adour in Tarbes. That’s four maths in ten days.
An insane pace, which makes the coach, and we understand, in a bad mood. How, in fact, to prepare well when other teams have only one, two or even three (Challans Bordeaux and Vitré) matches with consequently a more lenient schedule.
Infernal pace
It is essential, in fact, to win as many matches as possible to still dream of a top of the table and avoid the bottom. When it is said that the other poorly ranked teams will have difficult matches, the coach retorts, “I am watching my team…”.
We feel that Chris has, again, across the throat, Friday’s match against Rennes about which we are still wondering.
How to take four consecutive award shots in the first three minutes? How could the defense leave so much space to the shooters? “Yes, lack of concentration, you have to go into contact. The problem is the pace of matches, which is not normal. You cannot play every three days at one hundred percent”.
A performance in Bordeaux for the top 5?
And the Tarbais coach to consider the exit in Gironde: “Bordeaux is not the Bordeaux of last month. They had victories against Rueil and Vitré which we did not do. Against Bordeaux we have to come back to our character, the one we have in defence. Not just ten minutes (the second act like against Rennes). You have to have that in mind, this motivation to hold on… throughout the match”.
Admittedly, on Friday, the Bordelais suffered a correction in Poitiers (83-45) but they played at 8, Pingault and Voronikovas were absent. Only captain Vialaret came out on top that evening. But against Vitré the five majors, Vialaret, Razanamahenina, Vorotnikovas, Desmonts, Marshall performed well with double-digit ratings. This was also the case during the success against Rueil for Vialaret, Desmonts with a double double (10rbs, 13 pts) and Razanamahenina. Marshall, a good rebounder, had not played against the Union in Lourdes, in the first leg.
No overconfidence, therefore, for the Unionists, motivation, concentration, solidarity, to, again, dream of Top 5.
