Coach Xavi’s charges took the lead in the second minute. Alba centered for the penalty area, and the uncovered Pedri pushed himself through the shot. In the 40th minute, Darder equalized with a technical shot prepared by De Tomás. Barce returned Gavi’s lead in the second half, but his goal did not pay due to offside. The novice turned the score in the 64th minute, when De Tomás ran on Darder’s kick for the defense and punished the hesitation of the substitute defender García.
At the dramatic end of the Barcelona derby, the home Melamed and the guest Piqué were eliminated after a skirmish and second yellow cards. His substitute teammate Luuk de Jong decided a draw just before the end. Espaňol has been waiting for the league victory over Barcelona since the 2008/09 season.

In Valencia, Betis built a three-goal lead in the first 42 minutes after goals from Fekir, Gonzalez and Carvalho. Shortly before the break, the home team reduced thanks to Gómez, who scored just after the change of sides. In the 49th minute, however, the Frenchman Fekir secured the third victory of the Seville team from the last four rounds. Betis loses 11 points to Real Madrid leader.
