Fabio Fognini spoke to Novak Djokovic after Australia expulsion: ‘Everything very crazy’

Fognini also admitted he was in contact with the Serb when he was forced to leave Australia after his recovered status was not accepted by the country’s authorities after several court cases.

“I spoke to Djokovic when they threw him out of Australia and it was all very crazy,” said the current number 40 in the world, adding: “He was struggling [um bei den Australian Open zu spielen]because he knew he could do it.”

However, Fognini did not want to contribute to the speculation as to whether the world number one actually fell ill with Corona in the run-up to the tournament.
