Rayo Vallecano faces Real Madrid this Saturday for date 26 of LaLiga Santander in Spain, with the black mark of not winning in the last six league games. And one of those mentioned is Falcao García, who completes eight games without scoring.
The “Tiger” goes through difficult times, both in his club and in the Colombian National Team. Precisely, his most recent goal dates from November 6, 2021, at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, in the 2-1 defeat against Real Madrid. In that same match he suffered an injury that kept him out of the competition for several weeks.
Given the lack of a goal by Radamel, Andoni Iraola gave his opinion this Friday, at the press conference prior to the game against Real Madrid. The Rayo Vallecano coach was clear about the moment of the Colombian striker.
“It’s not the issue of a player or a striker. In the end, they are occasions that we are having clear and scoring fewer goals lately. Perhaps, in the first round we scored more goals generating less. What we have to do in the end is compete better, which is what gives you the points. I don’t see the team’s game as bad and the other day, they scored goals with a player out. We are not ready to cut. Another goal after a foul in favor, they take the cons and they make the goal for you. Those details that allow you to add or not, are subtracting us. That, together with the fact that we do not score easily, does not make us add. We have tried to work on it during the week, long after a long time, and I think it has been good for us for these three games next week”, commented Iraola.
The Rayo coach added: “We are being less effective, especially in front of goal, than before. We have to keep insisting and have offensive volume, like in Elche, which the team created and generated, although we only scored one goal, but continue along that line so that efficiency returns”.
