There are forty days left for the duel between the Colombian National Team and its counterpart from Bolivia, in the penultimate match of the Qatar 2022 World Cup Qualifiers, which are increasingly a chimera.
Disappointment over his own work that was not done and the uncertainty of depending on other results to scratch a place in the next World Cup are combined in a single name: Reinaldo Rueda. The DT has been the target of bitter criticism for the management of the payroll and in the last two games, against Bolivia in Barranquilla and as a visitor against Venezuela, there is much to improve if you want, at least, to prolong the illusion.
But not all of them are pointing fingers and blaming the coach, because those who know him emphasize that, although he has not had the expected results, his experience and his recognition are undeniable.
One of his defenders is Faustino Asprilla, who in the ESPNF90 program assured without a doubt: “he is a number 1”.
The former player of the Colombia National Team, today in his role as analyst, explained that “the technicians are like soccer players because they are making a career” and that we must not forget that Rueda “qualified Honduras and Ecuador… not all technicians have it ”.
