Felipe Reyes is already ‘Euroleague Legend’ – Basketball

Madrid, Feb 11 (EFE).- Real Madrid“>Felipe Reyes, former Real Madrid and Estudiantes player, is already a ‘Legend of the Euroleague’ and the executive president of the competition, Jordi Bertomeu, presented him with the commemorative trophy that accredits him before the start of the classic between the white team and Barça.

Pau Gasol, Sergio Llull, Sergio ‘Chacho’ Rodríguez, Rudy Fernández and Pablo Laso thanked Reyes, via video, for his career.

The former player becomes the seventh basketball player to receive this ‘Euroleague Legend‘ designation after Sarunas Jasikevicius, Juan Carlos Navarro, Ramunas Siskauskas, Theodoros Papaloukas, Dimitris Diamantidis and Mirsad Turkca.

Reyes retired last summer at the age of 41, with 23 years of sporting experience and 24 titles in his personal account, including eight in the League and six Copa del Rey with the Real Madrid shirt and one more with the Estudiantes in 2000.

He also won two Euroleagues (2015 and 2018) and at the time of his retirement he was the top offensive rebounder in the competition (now surpassed by Kyle Hines), second in total rebounds (1,799), third in games played (357), sixth in PIR (3,775) and eighth in points scored (3,029).

With the Spanish team (236 international caps) he was World Champion in 2006 and European Champion at the Eurobaskets in 2009, 2011 and 2015, among other achievements.
