‘Feyenoord and technical director Arnesen will talk one more time’

Frank Arnesen and Feyenoord think they need one more meeting to find out about a new employment contract. The contract of the technical director in South Rotterdam expires, but there is a good chance that he will stay longer.

The fact that that last conversation was not hastily scheduled proves, according to club watcher Martijn Krabbendam of Voetbal International, that both parties will come to an agreement. “It is going in the right direction, but there is still one more conversation to follow,” it sounds in the Dick Voormekaar Podcast† “Feyenoord and Arnesen take their time and he didn’t mind that either. That indicates that everything will be okay.”

The new contract of the Danish technical director is therefore almost complete. “There are still some formalities to be completed, but he has not yet officially extended,” emphasizes Krabbendam. “It’s not finished yet. But you could tell from him that it looked good.”

Arnesen has also been mentioned more and more in recent weeks as a possible successor to Marc Overmars at Ajax. A new contract with Feyenoord would mean that that situation would not materialize. The Dane himself already indicated at Good morning Eredivisie that he is happy at Feyenoord and did not want to talk about Ajax.
