Followed up: Borussia Dortmund simply lacks the class! – Bundesliga

The 1-1 draw in Augsburg was the next setback for Dortmund in a messed-up season.

The reasons have been discussed for months: motivational problems, the wrong composition of the squad, deficits in coaching, many absences – there is certainly a grain of truth in every point.

The shortest (and probably most apt) analysis was provided by Jürgen Kohler, once the “football god” at BVB, in the “double pass” at Sport 1. With just one sentence: “The team isn’t as good as many people think!”

In other words: the class is simply missing! period, over!

Cup out at St. Pauli, Champions League out in an easy group, Europa League out against Glasgow Rangers, repeated setbacks in the Bundesliga – and then again clear victories like the 6-0 win against Gladbach! How is such a roller coaster ride possible?

Consistency at the highest possible level is the goal of every coach. If it’s missing, it has something to do with class.

And if BVB still staggers unchallenged towards the runners-up championship, the suspicion quickly arises that the entire Bundesliga (apart from Bayern) is not as good as many still think.

No more Bayern, no Dortmund, no Leverkusen in the cup this week. But four of eight teams from the 2nd league. It’s sensational, the fans love it. But gives the so-called elite an indictment.

World class in what was once the best league in the world? Yes, in Bavaria! And otherwise?

Haaland will probably be gone again at BVB at the end of the season. Like Sancho and many others before him. For example Kai Havertz, who shot Chelsea to the Champions League victory at the age of 21.

Even Bayern are rethinking their transfer policy and want to focus more on young stars in the future. Also because they realize that even their famous fixed-term deposit account is no longer sufficient against the rich clubs from England. What should BVB and others say?

And more and more the class falls by the wayside!
