in 1/4, Toma Junior POPOV (Badminton Fos) took his match by the right end against Lucas CLAERBOUT (Union Sportive Talence). Very diligent and solid, the Fosséen imposes itself without a shadow of a doubt 21/14 21/06. In 1/2 he faces Brice LEVERDEZ (Le Volant Airois) 9 times French Champion and 3 Olympic campaigns to his credit.
Christo POPOV (Badminton Fos) dominated Thomas FOURCADE (Union Sportive Talence) 21/13 21/16. The 2020 French Champion joins the last four where he will find Thomas ROUXEL (BC Chambly Oise)
WOMEN’S SINGLES
Defending Champion Yaelle HOYAUX (Badminton Club Fos) continues to chart its course with an easy quarter-final victory at the expense of Romane CLOTEAUX-FOUCAULT (Le Volant Airois) 21/14 21/16. She is opposed to Rosy PANCASARI (ASPTT Strasbourg).
MEN’S DOUBLE
The favorites responded with 3 seeds out of 4 present in the last four. The brothers POPOV (Badminton Fos) – Toma Junior and Christo – will be there after their solid victory over the pair CATTOEN / RONGET (VGA Stella Saint Maur / Union Sportive Créteil) 21/11 21/18. They will find players they know well. Their club partner Erwin KEHLHOFFNER as well as Thom GICQUEL (Badminton Club Fos/Red Star Mulhouse) with whom the eldest POPOV was crowned Junior European Champion in doubles. Erwin and Thom managed to beat the duo MAIO / ADAM (MDMSA / BC Chambly Oise) in the quarter-finals 21/14 21/7. A first medal guaranteed for the student and his former coach.
