Gas station Robbery in Möglingen: Police Seek Public’s Help
A brazen robbery took place at an Aral gas station in Möglingen, a town in the Ludwigsburg district, on Thursday evening. Authorities are actively seeking facts from the public to apprehend the perpetrator.
Around 10 p.m., just minutes before closing time, an unidentified man entered the gas station on Ludwigsburger Strasse. He pretended to be looking for a specific item, luring the 24-year-old employee away from the counter. Once the clerk was in front of the counter,the robber forcefully pushed him against it,brandishing a firearm and demanding money. The terrified employee complied, opening the cash register, allowing the robber to seize the cash. The perpetrator then fled the scene, heading towards Hindenburgstrasse.
According to police reports,the suspect is estimated to be between 20 and 30 years old and approximately 1.80 meters tall. He was wearing a black baseball cap with a silver emblem on top, a dark blue hoodie layered under a black sleeveless quilted vest, Adidas track pants, and white sneakers. His face was concealed behind a black FFP2 mask.
This incident highlights the ongoing issue of gas station robberies, a crime that has seen a concerning rise in recent years. According to the German Federal Criminal Police Office, there were over 1,500 gas station robberies reported in 2022, a 10% increase from the previous year.
