Jean-Pierre, thanks for joining us.Let’s jump right in. The En Pêtre room is the beating heart of youth football here, but we see even during school breaks, it’s abuzz with activity – intensive training sessions, skill development, team building. Is this kind of relentless focus essential for young players?
Jean-Pierre: Absolutely. When I was coming up thru the ranks, we didn’t have the facilities these kids have today. But the principle remained the same: hard work breeds success.
these school break sessions are crucial. They allow young players to stay sharp, refine their skills, and develop that crucial team camaraderie. it’s not just about the physical side of the game; it’s about building mental toughness and fostering a love for the sport.

You mentioned team camaraderie. We saw that the week kicked off with a selection of promising U11 players. Early identification and nurturing talent is clearly a priority. How important is it for kids to receive specialized coaching at such a young age?
Jean-Pierre:
It’s invaluable. At U11,you’re starting to see those raw talents emerge. Providing them with structured coaching, tailored to their age and skill level, can accelerate their development tremendously. It’s about instilling the fundamentals, building confidence, and nurturing their passion for the game.
Though, we mustn’t forget that at this age, it should still be primarily about enjoyment.

It’s basic. Access to quality facilities, experienced coaches, and a supportive environment are essential building blocks for any aspiring young athlete. These kids deserve the best, and it’s fantastic to see clubs like Etoile investing in their future.
