Go Ahead Eagles takes the lead halfway through against Ajax and that is ‘completely deserved’, says Marciano Vink. In Deventer it is 2-0 thanks to goals from Iñigo Córdoba and Philippe Rommens.
“Completely deserved, they just have things in order,” Vink told ESPN about Go Ahead, which plays with five defenders. “If it is possible, Jay Idzes will move on to Davy Klaassen, in collaboration with Rommens. They have done that very well and Ajax has a lot of trouble with that. If you are also sloppy, you will play a lost match. 2-0 behind!”
Ajax is making it very difficult for itself four days after the Champions League match against Benfica (2-2), says Vink. “Go Ahead immediately started fierce and brutal, the 1-0 was not undeserved either. Ajax was not given any space. Go Ahead just shows that they want to play football and dare to push forward. Ajax is not sharp, not on the lesson and too many players perform below par. The wrong people are at the ball. This is unworthy of Ajax.”
