Göttingen ends Ulm’s winning streak – kicker

The BG Göttingen has the winning streak of ratiopharm Ulm in the BBL; stopped. The Lower Saxony won on Saturday with 91:87 (51:38) and inflicted the first defeat on the guests after six successes in a row.

With a record of 14:6 victories, the Ulm team, together with Telekom Baskets Bonn and Niners Chemnitz, are in a trio chasing leaders FC Bayern Munich. Göttingen (11:7) improved to eighth place.

In front of 500 spectators, the team from Göttingen were already 13 points ahead thanks to a strong second quarter (29:10). Ulm got better after the change of sides and was able to reduce the lead to 83:84 with 38 seconds to go. The hosts kept their nerves in the final stages and deservedly won. The Norwegian Harald Frey scored the best with 21 points for the Göttingen team.

The Niners Chemnitz prevailed surprisingly clearly with 74:56 (35:27) against the MHP giants Ludwigsburg and were able to catch up with the Ulm team. The Saxons and are still among the positive surprises in the league. Ludwigsburg (13:7), on the other hand, lost for the first time after four wins in a row and fell back to fifth place.
