Neptune Bolsters Roster with Dutch Talent Jorge espinal
Neptune BC 1945 continues its trend of acquiring Dutch talent, announcing the signing of outfielder Jorge Espinal.espinal, born in Aruba in 1999, brings a wealth of experience from the Italian baseball scene.
Espinal’s journey in Italy began in 2017 with Macerata in Serie A2. He quickly made a name for himself, showcasing his exceptional batting skills and speed on the basepaths. In 2018, he led the A2 league with a remarkable .471 batting average and 27 stolen bases, solidifying his reputation as a force to be reckoned with.”I’m thrilled to return to Italy and specifically to Neptune,” Espinal expressed. “I’m grateful to the Neptune management and Malvin Vasquez for this chance. My goal is to replicate my past successes in Macerata and contribute significantly to Neptune’s achievements this season.”
Espinal’s connection to Neptune extends beyond the field. He shares a close bond with Malvin Vasquez, a familiar face from his time in Macerata. “Malvin is like a father figure to me,” Espinal shared.The young outfielder is also enterprising about his future, aiming to represent the Dutch national team. “Playing for the national team is definitely a dream,” Espinal stated. “I believe that performing consistently at a high level with Neptune will pave the way for that opportunity.”
Joining Espinal in Neptune are fellow Dutch players Van Heydoorn and Draijer, creating a strong Dutch contingent within the team.While Espinal hasn’t met them personally, he’s eager to build a strong rapport with his new teammates. “I’m excited to connect with Van Heydoorn and Draijer,” Espinal said. “I believe we can create a powerful synergy and achieve grate things together.”

Jorge: Thank you for having me! It’s great to be here.

Jorge: Italy holds a special place in my heart.I had a great experience playing in Macerata and felt right at home. When Neptune presented this possibility, it felt like the perfect next step. They have a strong team with a clear vision for success, and I’m excited to be a part of it.
Moderator: neptune definately seems like a good fit, especially with the Dutch connection.You mentioned Malvin Vasquez,who’s very familiar face from your time in Macerata. Can you tell us how that relationship influenced your decision?
Jorge: malvin is more than just a teammate; he’s like a mentor and a father figure to me. Having him at Neptune was a huge plus, and his faith in me really means a lot. It makes the transition to a new team so much smoother.
Moderator: A lot of teams talk about building strong team culture. Do you think this Dutch connection, with Van Heydoorn and Draijer already on the roster, will benefit Neptune overall?
Jorge: Definitely. I believe it’s a huge advantage.We already share a cultural understanding, which translates to better communication on and off the field. Plus, it creates a sense of camaraderie that can fuel our performance.
Moderator: Now, you’ve mentioned your ambition to represent the Dutch National Team. That’s a big goal! How do you think playing for Neptune will help you achieve it?
Jorge: I know that consistently performing at a high level with Neptune will get me noticed.The Dutch National Team scouts are always watching,and I’m determined to prove myself worthy of a place on the roster.
