The incoming market for Neptune speaks more and more Dutch. After the hits of Van Heydoorn and Draijer, the arrival of winger Jorge Espinal was also announced.
Below is the statement from Neptune issued this afternoon:
Neptune BC 1945 is pleased to announce the signing of Dutch winger Jorge Espinal.
Born on 24 May 1999 on the island of Aruba in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, he built his career in Italian baseball by arriving very young, at the age of 18, in Macerata in the 2017 season in SerieA2.
The following year he is among the top protagonists of the A2 championship, in fact he closes in second place in the ranking of batters with .471 average batting and is the absolute leader in stolen bases with 27 Stolen Bases. He also excellent the .630 percentage of finish on base. He then wore the Verona jersey for a short period, again in A2.
“I am very happy to return to play in Italy and in Nettuno in particular – commented Jorge Espinal – I thank the management of Nettuno and also thanks to Malvin Vasquez who pointed me to this great team. I want to reach the same statistics I did in Macerata to help Nettuno achieve great goals this season ”.
You have known Malvin Vasquez since the time of Macerata, so you will immediately find a familiar atmosphere in Neptune:
“I met Malvin in Macerata and he is like a father to me”, answers Espinal.
You are very young, do you think that putting yourself in the spotlight in a top club in Italy can pave the way for the Dutch national team as well?
“Of course I think about the national team. Obviously I have to repeat the same statistics I did in the past to Neptune as well ”.
About Holland. There is a lot of Orange baseball on the 2022 Neptune roster. In fact, you will also find Van Heydoorn and Draijer:
“I don’t know them personally – says Jorge Espinal – but they are strong players. I want to meet them in Nettuno and create the right chemistry with them to do great things with this team ”.
The Management of Neptune BC 1945 welcomes Jorge Espinal to the roster.
