Honus Wagner’s Baseball HOF Induction Clock

Honus Wagner’s Baseball HOF Induction Clock

Legendary infielder Honus Wagner was one of the charter members of the Baseball Hall of Fame, inducting with fellow immortals Ty Cobb, Walter Johnson, Christy Mathewson, and Babe Ruth. While Wagner was technically part of the Class of 1936, he received this Gruen Curvex on June 12, 1939 at the Hall’s grand opening. It is one of only eleven such examples, one for each living player who attended the event. Regarded as one of the three most coveted watches – along with Cobbs and Ruths – it bears an inscription on the case back that reads “Presented to Honus Wagner, Member of The Hall of Fame, Baseball Centennial, 1839-1939”. While the hand-wound movement appears to still work, the watch likely needs service, but it remains an extremely rare baseball memorabilia.
