Ready Set Go. After the pragmatic meetings with the active sports associations a Nervianothe project “The educational value of sport”at the center of one of the first delegations entrusted by the mayor Daniela Colombo after taking office at the helm of the town, is ready to go live from next Monday 14 Marchnetworking eleven realities of the Nervian sports scene, all the classes of primary and lower secondary schools in the city and those of the last year of kindergarten for to restart the sporting activity of the youngest e pto promote sporting activities in the municipal area.
The initiative, coordinated by municipal councilor Francesco Pompaprovides that they will be put in place 500 hours of sport fully funded by Piazza Manzoni to support, by teaming up with sports associations, the weakest sections of the school population, promoting the right to sport and socialization which too often the pandemic – but not only – in recent times has put a spanner in the works. Thanks to the project “The educational value of sport” each class will have two five-hour cycles during which to experience two different sports activities thanks to the guidance of qualified instructors and based on a pre-established calendar: the proposal will be declined during the lesson hours already dedicated to physical education and will give students the opportunity to try their hand, outdoors or in school gyms, in tennis, volleyball, judo, Nordic walking, cycling, bowls, rhythmic gymnastics, soccer, athletics and kick boxing.
«The aims of the project are manifold – explains the municipal administration -: bring all pupils closer to proper physical education and healthy lifestyles; initiate them to the practice of sports-games while maintaining the specific playful part and aiming at the achievement of educational objectives such as motor literacy, autonomy, creativity and socialization; encourage learning situations in which each pupil has the opportunity to express themselves, experiment and have fun without being discriminated against; encourage the participation of all pupils in sporting activities, promote cooperation, strengthen social inclusion and enhance self-esteem; develop correct relationship behaviors, promote a spirit of healthy competition and the value of respecting agreed and shared rules; develop the skills related to the sensory-perceptive functions and improve motor skills capable of developing in the student an awareness of their own abilities and limitations. To achieve these purposes the didactic interventions will have a “global” value with respect to all areas of the personality e a “specific” validity towards the multiple functions of the motor area. The proposals will be varied in the implementation of a specific activity and particular attention will be reserved for students with disabilities and special educational needs, for whom the activities will be aimed at full integration “.
