From march 1st to 3rd, 2022, Mondeville will host the inaugural stage of the “Champions Route,” a nationwide tour organized by the French Judo Federation. This exciting event, a collaboration between the Normandy judo League, the Calvados Judo Committee, USOM Judo, and the City of Mondeville, promises to be a party of judo values and a unique prospect for interaction with some of the sport’s biggest names.the “Champions Route” is more then just a sporting event; it’s a platform for social inclusion, promoting health and well-being, and fostering intergenerational and cultural exchange through the lens of judo.

Meet the Champions:
Cécile Nowak: A decorated judoka with victories at the Grand Slam of Paris, European Championships, World Championships, and the Olympic Games.
Cathy Arnaud: Olympic medalist and a champion at the Grand Slam of Paris, European Championships, and World Championships. Faiza Mokdar: A rising star, holding the title of French champion and European junior champion. Guy Delvingt: A Grand Slam of Paris winner, French champion, and European champion.
Guillaume Chaine: French champion and Olympic gold medalist.
Cyrille March: Grand Slam of Paris winner, French champion, and olympic medalist.Adding to this stellar lineup are two talented Norman athletes from Team Normandy:
Romaric Bouda: A champion at the French senior level, French junior champion, and European cadet champion. Yasmine Horlaville: Vice-champion of France at the senior level.

Judo Champions Inspire mondeville
Mondeville is set to host a thrilling two-day event featuring renowned judo champions, offering a unique opportunity for residents of all ages and abilities to engage with the sport. The event, scheduled for March 1st and 2nd, 2022, promises a blend of educational workshops, interactive demonstrations, and inspiring encounters.
Kodomo, the beloved panda-fox mascot from Japan, will join the champions, introducing the world of judo to both young and old.
Day one: Connecting with the Community
The first day will focus on community engagement, with judo initiation workshops led by the champions for elementary school students from mondeville. These workshops will take place at the Halle Bérégovoy, providing a fun and interactive introduction to the fundamentals of judo.
Later in the day, the champions will visit the EHPAD La Source, engaging in discussions with residents and conducting an awareness workshop on safe falling techniques. This session aims to promote physical well-being and injury prevention among seniors.
The evening will culminate in a prestigious gathering, bringing together the champions, local partners, businesses, and institutions dedicated to promoting judo within the community.
Day Two: Expanding Horizons
The second day will extend the reach of the event, with judo demonstrations and interactive sessions at the François Baclesse Center in Caen. Patients undergoing treatment and caregivers will have the opportunity to witness the champions’ skills, ask questions, and even get autographs and photos.
An inclusive judo initiation workshop will be held at the Halle Bérégovoy, specifically designed for individuals with disabilities. This session emphasizes the adaptability and accessibility of judo for all.
The grand finale will be a captivating show featuring licensed Calvados children aged 6 to 12.The champions will lead a variety of workshops, including technical demonstrations, judo culture videos, and exciting team challenges pitting the champions against the Kodomo Team, a group of young judokas.impacting Lives Through Judo
This event is expected to reach a wide audience, with over 356 elementary school children from Mondeville, more than 1,000 children from the department, 40 individuals with disabilities, and over 20 seniors participating.
