At the beginning of the week, several signatures animated the NBA news. With the deadline to finalize their roster for the Playoffs fast approaching (March 1), many teams are making small adjustments. We’ll give you the recap right away.
# Jevon Carter will join the Bucks for the rest of the season
While Goran Dragic decided to sign for the Nets, Brooklyn had to make room in its roster to welcome the Slovenian point guard and it was Jevon Carter who paid the price. The guard passed by Memphis and Phoenix earlier in his career therefore found himself in turn a free agent and wanted to join another contender. It’s done, since Adrian Wojnarowski has just announced that the leader was going to join the Milwaukee Bucks for the remainder of the season. He will be able to sign his contract from Wednesday, when he has passed the period of derogations linked to his termination of contract. The Bucks were to add a player to their workforce before Thursday (14 players minimum in the roster) and had first looked at the Goran Dragic file. With the signing of the Slovenian in Brooklyn, the Bucks then fell back on Carter, a shooter capable of defending well. This season, Jevon Carter is filming 3.6 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1 assist on 33.3% shooting and 33.1% three-pointers.

# Drew Eubanks joins the Blazers for ten days
At Trade Deadline, Drew Eubanks had been included in a package with Thaddeus Young to be sent to Toronto in exchange for Goran Dragic. As soon as he arrived, the interior was cut by the Canadians and found himself a free agent. Yesterday, Adrian Wojnarowski fromESPN announced the signing Eubanks to a ten-day contract in Portland, the opportunity for him to raise his rating. Eubanks knows Oregon well, having spent three years at Oregon State University before joining the NBA. This season, the former Spur is touring in 4.7 points, 4 rebounds and 1 assist in just over 12 minutes of playing time.
The Trail Blazers are signing forward Drew Eubanks to a 10-day contract, sources tell ESPN. Toronto waived Eubanks after a trade deadline deal with the Spurs, where Eubanks played 148 games in parts of the past four seasons.

# The Sixers sign Willie Cauly-Stein to a 10-day contract
After dropping Stephen Curry and Andre Drummond to acquire James Harden at the deadline, the Sixers find themselves with a free spot in the rotation, and in particular needs inside. According to John Clark of NBC Sports Philadelphia, Willie Cauley-Stein has just been signed by the Sixers to a ten-day contract. The Kentucky-trained interior had started the season in Dallas but was cut in January to allow the signing of Marquese Chriss from Texas. This season, WCS has only played 18 games for 1.9 points and 2.1 rebounds in 9.8 minutes of playing time.

#JJ Barea joins Cangrejeros de Santurce to play this summer
It will be a year and a half since JJ Barea has played an NBA game. Cut by the Mavericks in favor of Jalen Brunson during the 2020 training camp, the Puerto Rican found himself playing in Spain and then in his country in Puerto Rico. And if some Dallas fans thought JJ was going to sign for a final season with the Mavs in a Udonis Haslem-like role, we’re going to be treated to another scenario. At 37, Barea indeed wishes to achieve one more professional season in his country and has decided to extend in the club of Cangrejeros de Santurce. Last season, he was shooting 12.4 points, 3.2 rebounds and 5.1 assists in 22.5 minutes.

So much for the few small discreet signatures that took place at the beginning of the week. Nothing crazy, but these additions to the bottom of the roster can sometimes make a difference. You’ll remember it when Jevon Carter will plant a buzzer beater on the head of his former team from Brooklyn in the Playoffs.
