Following the regional championship of this Saturday, February 19, 3 judokas from the ASC Judo club qualified thanks to their access to the final. Manon Pecqueux and Gaelle Barbier became regional champions, as well Thibault Dambrine who is vice-champion, have obtained their place to fight in the French championship which will take place on March 5 and 6, at the Judo Institute in Paris. Lou Ann Hubault in -57 kg, Ange Horina in -73 kg and Georgi Dadiani in +100 kg, they also qualified for the French Junior Championships thanks to the national ranking list.
Thibault Denis, coach of ASC Judo judokasis satisfied with this weekend of this qualification which for the club, is historic: “ we took eight judokas to the regional championship. It’s a great satisfaction for us because three of them qualified for the French championships. We could have had one or two more, so slight disappointment because some were not far away. However, there is a very good spirit and a very good group cohesion so I’m very happy with this weekend. »
I hope we will leave with at least two medals.
Thibault Denis, judo coach at the ASC.
Determined to return with medals, training has already resumed : « we are already preparing for the championships who arrive since it is in two weeks. They will therefore have training during these two weeks. Tomorrow I take some juniors at the judo institute to do a strong workout and I’m going to add a session to them on Saturday afternoon. Three other judokas from the club have been qualified by the national ranking list, including Georgi Dadiani, and I hope that among all this group we will leave with at least two medals”.
