Toma Nikiforov, winner of the Grand Slam of Paris on Sunday, rose two ranks and is now in 4th place in the world ranking of his category, the under 100kgs, Monday after a weekend which will have seen Sami Chouchi take bronze in the French capital, in -81kg.

Sami Chouchi retains his 7th place in the world, beaten in the semi-final by the Georgian Tato Grigalashvili who took advantage of the tournament (where he was beaten in the final by the Japanese Sotaro Fujiwara) to regain the first world place in -81kg from Matthias Casse (IJF 2), which had skipped Paris.

Casse had returned to competition the previous week at the Portuguese Grand Prix with a gold medal and a provisional world lead.

Jorre Verstraeten, 7th in Paris, moves back one place and is 6th in the -60kgs ranking.
