The Aragonese athlete judo-gala-with-huesca-as-the-protagonist/” title=”First edition of the Judo Gala with Huesca as the protagonist”>Raúl Clemente and the Casal family from Lleida, through the Medicuba-Spain NGO and the Ernesto Guevara Development Cooperation and Solidarity Association, from Madrid, donated 56 judogis to the judo chair at the Orestes Sports Initiation School Acosta, from Santiago de Cuba.
“The donation will help us a lot to do a better job with the young talents that we have in the academy and thus be able to remain among the best provinces in the country, since we are currently the second comprehensive place at the national level,” said the head of the chair, Rudy Cabrales Castillo.
The professor expressed his satisfaction at receiving the new judogis, since: “It comes to us at an important moment, because we had a shortage of these outfits, which are vital for the preparation of athletes. Now we will be able to work more effectively on the kumi technique, as well as on grips and controls, among others.”
The truth is that the judogi is not just a dress, for the judoka, it is almost like armor. “It is essential for us, I would say that without a good judogi you cannot practice judo correctly. Without a doubt, our team will be much better prepared thanks to this donation,” said Wendy de la Caridad Martínez Uribe, from the -63 kilogram division.
It is actions like these that create bridges of indissoluble friendship and solidarity, which will also help the future champions of this martial art in the untamed territory to maintain Santiago de Cuba as a power in the practice of judo.
