Kamaru Usman unable to speak when hearing Makhachev’s Islamic speech stated Khabib Nurmagomedov will return to fight in UFC in the welterweight class which is Usman’s fighting class.
The funny incident occurred after Makhachev beat Bobby Green at UFC Vegas 49 at UFC Apex, Las Vegas, Sunday (27/2) morning WIB. Usman who works for ESPN had the opportunity to interview Makhachev.
“Many say you became the second Khabib, but when Khabib was still actively training, he was still a great fighter. Now Khabib is no longer fighting, so how is the training between Khabib and you now?” Usman asked Makhachev.
Hearing Usman’s question, Makhachev decided to joke with the UFC welterweight world champion. Makhachev joked that Khabib will return to fight in the UFC, not at lightweight, but at welterweight which is currently controlled by Usman.
“Now I can’t train with him. Maybe you can. Now you’re in the same division [welter] with Khabib, “Makhachev was quoted as saying by ESPN MMA.
“But you have to be careful with that. Maybe Khabib will come back and he won’t appear in class 155 [ringan]but he will fight at 170 [welter]”Makhachev joked to Usman.

Hearing Makhachev’s words, Usman was silent for a moment while continuing to nod his head. Usman later said that Khabib was more suited to fight in the light heavyweight class controlled by Israel Adesanya.
“No, no, he will fight at light heavyweight, class 205,” said Usman with a smile.
Usman is one of Khabib’s best friends. The two fighters are also in the same management.
