The Kansas City Chiefs fired Anthony Hitchens. The linebacker spent four seasons at Kansas City and won Super Bowl LIV with the team. He has had 381 tackles, two sacks and one interception for the team since 2018. The dismissal of the 29-year-old saves the team around Patrick Mahomes and Co. 8.4 million US dollars and thus has significantly more leeway in free agency to sign newcomers. Chiefs Head Coach Andy Reid praised Hitchens: “I’ve really enjoyed coaching Anthony for the last four years.”
