After a tough start against the local Chloe Devictor, the 28-year-old confidently made it into the semi-finals, where the current world number 5 with the Kosovar Distria Krasniqi met the reigning Olympic champion in the class up to 48 kilograms, who is now competing in the higher weight class. Kocher had to admit defeat after 52 seconds.
In the small final against the French Astrid Gneto, the world number 7, both athletes finally had chances to win, but Kocher secured it on the ground with a sangaku gatame.
For Kocher it is the third podium finish at a Grand Slam.
