The school holidays made it possible to organize this internal course at the Creusotin club.
This Monday, 28 young people aged 6 to 10 met from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. under the guidance of their teacher Johnny Potet, assisted by 3 11-year-olds Anais, Iliane and Ewen.
On the program of judo techniques, sports games and a good dose of good humor. Welcomed at 9 a.m., the children then took part in a judo session until 12:30 p.m. With the program, a warm-up in relay and 3 learning workshops on falls then technical work on morote seoi nage (front throw technique) followed by 30 “combat units. After a shared meal in a very good atmosphere, a little quiet time on the history of judo and samurai was offered to the children. At 2 p.m., the young people put on their kimono for a one-hour session of sports games on the tatami mats (dooge ball, seated ball, Sparrowhawk, etc.).
After that, the children continued with technical ground turning work. To end the session, the president of the club Françoise Bouchet brought the choreography of the music of Ponga “the judoka penguin”. A small snack was offered to the children at 5 p.m. Faced with the success of this first course for 6-10 year olds, the club will repeat this kind of action which is a real added value in terms of cohesion and links between young people, this in addition to the specific technical contribution to the judo. Congratulations to the 3 young people who really took their responsibility as assistants to heart.
