The leader is 16 years old
The Le Havre investigators succeeded by cross-checking to link different cases of burglaries committed with or without breaking and entering in Le Havre, Octeville or Sainte-Adresse between March 16, 2021 and December 29 of the same year.
“The vehicles stolen from different places were found in the same district, that of Bléville. The perpetrators took the keys to the houses before stealing the cars,” said a judicial source.
Other cross-checks were established by means of video surveillance or by traces left on the spot by the authors and found by the technical and scientific police. The 16-year-old leader of the group, “who, unlike the other young people arrested, admitted all the charges while in police custody” and his main accomplice, also 16 years old, were identified in first.
They were arrested on Wednesday February 2.
Consoles, telephones… found during searches
That same day, four other suspects in these cases were arrested: a 14-year-old girl, a 19-year-old adult and two other 16-year-old teenagers.
Searches took place at the homes of the parents of these young people, “consoles, telephones and other objects from the burglaries were found”.
The 16-year-old main author admitted “selling stolen items under the coat in the Bléville or Mare Rouge district”. He and his accomplice, also 16 years old, were presented before the judge for children on Friday February 4, with a request for placement in a home pending their judgment which will take place on April 5. The adult, meanwhile, was to answer for the charges during an immediate appearance, Friday, February 4, 2022. Finally, the four other suspected minors received a summons by a judicial police officer for April 5.
