At its 6e season in the Quebec team program, Léa is reaping the fruits of her labor according to coach Brad Pelletier. “She had been dominant at the Canadian Championships in Calgary in 2019 and she had been named on the all-star team. Léa progresses enormously each season and she will be able to join the number one college in softball in the United States in the NJCAA (junior). She will continue her studies there and performer to show off for the purpose of moving to the NCAA,” to mean the “coach.”
A student in Delinquency Intervention Techniques at John Abbott College, Léa is interested in criminology, psychology and law. She would like to become a lawyer or work in the field of law.
On the menu this summer for the hope of Saint-Lazare in fastball, throwing for the under-19s of Quebec in the tournaments planned in Ontario, at the Canada Cup competition for 8 days in British Columbia, in Buffalo (NY) , in New Hampshire, at the Canadian Championships in Fredericton (New Brunswick) and to complete, at the Canada Games in the Niagara region.
Once the season is over, Léa Chevrier will fly to Florida to write a new chapter in her athletic and academic journey. “I am very grateful and honored to have been chosen as the recipient of a Planète Courrier 2022 scholarship for a 2e consecutive year,” summarized Léa Chevrier, athlete-ambassador of Excellence Sportive Montérégie in 2021-2022.
Thanks to the 5e edition of the 808 Bonneville Challenge, the Quebec Foundation for Athlete Excellence was able to award $216,500 in individual scholarships awarded to 75 outstanding student-athletes by 27 sponsors or partners of the event.
