LeBron James (Lakers winger, after becoming NBA all-time leading scorer on Sunday): “It’s hard to talk about it, because I hate to think about anything else when it comes to a loss. We had the opportunity to win a great game this (Saturday) evening. But as I said, during my career, whenever I’ve been associated with certain great players, I’ve always been impressed. I am grateful for the opportunity to play this sport at the highest level. I like basketball. I love being part of the NBA and being able to inspire so many different generations.
Along the way, when you are able to accomplish things individually, at some point, I guess you have the opportunity to sit down and think about it. I don’t know what I think about it because the defeat is still too fresh in my head. My teammates came to see me tonight when they heard the news, and a few staff members also received messages after the game from friends, family and loved ones. So I guess that’s a pretty big deal. And I thank all those who congratulate me. »
