Cases of racism continue to pollute the world of football. We were playing the 26th minute of the match between AC Ajaccio and Rodez (2-1), Saturday night in Ligue 2, when island striker Mounaïm El Idrissy asked his teammates to get the ball out before complaining about racist insults from a Rodez player. The referee of the match, Mr. Vernice, decided to stop the match for a few minutes.
He then spoke with the two coaches and the two captains, before resuming play, for lack of evidence allowing him to go further and punish the author of these insults. To the benefit of this success, Ajaccio retains its place on the podium, while Rodez is in 14th place, three points from the place of play-off.
At the end of the match, Mounaïm El Idrissy reiterated his accusations on Twitter without naming the Ruthenian player who was allegedly guilty of this verbal slippage. « Today, 02/26/2022, I received racist remarks from a Rodez player in Ligue 2. I sincerely hope that sanctions will be applied. It must no longer exist »wrote the Corsican player.

In an interview with the Voice of the North, the central defender of Dunkirk, Samuel Yohou, had assured here a few days to have been the victim of racist insults at the Costières stadium against Nîmes (0-1), two weeks ago, during a match on the 23rd day of Ligue 2. Another incident of this type had already been deplored in the context of the 18th day of Ligue 2 between Toulouse and Rodez (1-1). A supporter present at the Toulouse Stadium was then sadly illustrated by uttering racist insults to the goalkeeper of Rodez, Lionel Mpasi. Damien Comolli, the Toulouse president immediately denounced the facts and apologized.
