Liverpool enter the Tolisso transfer poker

Club boss Oliver Kahn recently confirmed that Bayern would like to extend the expiring contract with Corentin Tolisso. According to reports, no final decision has yet been made. The Frenchman can imagine staying in Munich, but does not rule out a change in the summer. According to current media reports, Liverpool FC is a new prospect in the transfer poker game for the midfielder.

Tolisso has shone in the past few weeks as a substitute for the injured Leon Goretzka and has recently shown strong performances. While those responsible in Munich were very reluctant to extend the contract last year, the trend is now clearly in the direction of an extension.

The problem: In addition to Bayern, there are numerous other top clubs that deal with the French. Reportedly, this includes clubs like Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur. Liverpool FC could also join them.

Jurgen Klopp targets Tolisso

As reported by the “CalcioMercato” portal, Jürgen Klopp also targeted the 27-year-old. After Thiago, Tolisso would be the second Bayern midfielder to leave the record champions for Anfield Road. The Spaniard switched to the Reds in late summer 2020 for almost 20 million euros.

As of today, it is completely open whether and how things will continue with Tolisso on the Isar. Reason: The French midfielder would like to play a key role again in the future and significantly more playing times. In Munich, however, he would still have to be satisfied with a “backup role” behind Joshua Kimmich and Goretzka.

The topic of salary is also difficult. As the “Abendzeitung München” reports, not only the sporting aspect is a potential stumbling block in the talks with Tolisso. Accordingly, the player side has “very high salary expectations”, which could also become a problem. Concrete figures are not yet known. According to reports, the 2018 world champion currently earns almost seven million euros a year with Bayern.
