Suzuki Ecstar announced Suppo as their new manager. This Italian man fills the position vacated by Davide Brivio, who has joined the Alpine F1 Formula 1 (F1) team since early 2021.
Suppo has a wealth of experience in MotoGP since starting his career as manager of the Benetton Honda Team in 1994. Suppo’s name then emerged after joining Ducati in 2003. He was able to become the figure behind Casey Stoner’s success in becoming world champion with the Borgo Panigale team in 2007.
Suppo’s gait became even more fragrant after becoming the Head of the Repsol Honda Team. He joined Honda in 2010. Stoner who he brought to Honda again became world champion in 2011.
Suppo also played a key role in Honda’s success in dominating MotoGP with Marc Marquez in 2013 to 2017. In 2017, he decided to leave Honda and take a break before now returning to MotoGP with Suzuki.
Suzuki team leader, Shinichi Sahara, revealed that the joining of Suppo is an injection of strength for this Japanese manufacturer to navigate the 2022 MotoGP. Suzuki is going into this season with high confidence after two riders Joan Mir and Alex Rins performed quite promisingly in the pre-season test.

“Some of our crew members already have experience working with him, and I have known him for a long time as he has been in the paddock for many years. We have seen some promising signs and improvements in our performance during the pre-season tests and I believe the joining of Livio with us will strengthen our team even further and we will become even stronger.”
