Closer Virton did a bad job on Sunday evening on the 20th match day of the 1B Pro League in the battle for preservation. It lost 3-0 to Lommel, the penultimate in the standings.
Caue Vinicius was the celebrated man before half time with two goals from Lommel. Robin Henkens immediately put the game in a decisive fold in the second half with the third goal.
The Luxembourgers were no longer able to resist.
Lommel buys himself a little more breathing room with the important victory and now has 19 points. That is five more than Virton, with eight games left.
