In a chat with El Carrusel de Caracol Radio, the former Junior coach, Luis Amaranth Perea, referred to the lack of guarantees for Colombian coaches, to the current situation of the tricolor in the South American Qualifiers and was excited about a possible call from the FCF to guide some process at the national team level.
“It would be an honor to be called by the Colombian Football Federation,” Perea said about the possibility of reaching a Colombia selection.
The former soccer player made clear his concern for the bad moment that the national team is going through: “the situation of the Colombian National Team worries and hurts, for the teammates and for the great person that Professor Reinaldo Rueda is.” It should be remembered that Amaranto was the companion of several of those who currently wear the tricolor, including Falcao García.
And he added that “the lack of goal is very worrying, especially because of the category of the players. Defensively, the team has behaved well (…) Today we played in the National Team, but this is something that has been happening to us for a long time. First we should define what we want to play”.
Amaranto Perea said that managers must draw a line, so that it is clearly known what is being played and what is the stake. “There is a lack of guarantees for Colombian coaches, I do not speak ill of foreign coaches, because I have been a foreigner,” he said about how complicated it is for a local coach to manage at home and more so when talking about the national team.
It should be remembered that the Colombian National Team has just lost in the double qualifying round in January/February against Peru and Argentina, and complicated its qualification for the Qatar World Cup. Many ask for the departure of coach Rueda for the last two games, which will be in March against Bolivia and Venezuela.
