Dallas Mavericks winning streak ends abruptly”>Luka Doncic scored a career-high 51 points, including 28 in the first quarter of Thursday night’s game as the Dallas Mavericks beat the LA Clippers 112-105.
The 22-year-old Slovenian was accurate from the arc by going 7-14, plus 17-26 from the field and 10-14 from the free throw line.
It seems that Doncic did not miss center Kristaps Porzingis, who hours before was traded to the Washington Wizards. The European duo made up of the Latvian never reached the levels expected by the club, in just over two seasons.
Doncic hit seven of his first nine 3-pointers in the most prolific quarter of his career, but the Clippers got as close as two points in the fourth quarter. That seemed to motivate Doncic to reach fifty points.
Both teams will meet again in Dallas on Saturday.
